Belgian Sprint Championship Libramont: Bronze Medal

Being the defending champion never makes it easy.

Happy with my race and performance.
A good swim put me into a good position on the bike. Together with Dries Matthys, Thomas Guilmot and teammate Alexis Krug, we rode up to the front of the race. With 8 guys we managed to stay away from the chasepack.
Halfway onto the run, Noah Servais showed his strength and took off. Adrien Deharre was also too strong and I had to settle for third.

I am satisfied to be on the podium, to defend my title this way and to have been in the mix!

Congrats to the new 🇧🇪 champ Noah Servais!

Olympic Distance Triathlon Leuven: 2nd place

Home race in Leuven!
Had a blast racing here, good performance, but had to settle for 2nd place. Jonathan Wayaffe was the stronger runner of the day!

National Champion Again!!!

National Sprint Championship in L’eau d’heure!

Very happy to get away with this win, this means a lot after all the hard work I did during the PTI course.
Didn’t expect this to hapen, but having a 10th national elite championship victory was always a career goal!
It always seems impossible untill it’s done!

T3 series Geraardsbergen

Solo Victory on the Mur of Geraardsbergen!

Belgian Championship for Teams, Tournai.

As usual, 1st of may is the start of the Belgian triathlon season. And the kick off is the Belgian Championship for teams.

We couldn’t prolongate our title of last year with the SMO-Specialized team. But we finished on the third place this year.

Five teams were equal strong during a large part of the race, but Atriac was very strong on the run, and deserved the crown. KTT was runners up, like last year. And we took the bronze, two seconds in front of LTTD (4th) and again two seconds in front of TriGT (5th). So the quality of the field was very dense, and the championship is getting more and more competitive every year… Small details can make a big difference… A good evolution for our sport, and I really like this race format.

Our team did a good job, I don’t think we could go any faster today. With some young guns in the team, who did a great job, we can still grow towards the next years. So we will fight for the title again in the upcoming years…

Thanks Alexis, Jarno, Jorik, Lowie and Nicolas for this great race!

Greetings,
Simon

Video Report World Cup Miyazaki

A 4th place finish for Simon in the Miyazaki World Cup. A good way to finish the season on a high. But it’s a pity that he didn’t meet the criteria for his status as an elite athlete in the Belgian Army. He needed a podium finish on a World Cup and got pretty close with a 4th and 5th finish in the last two World Cups of the season.
